The saltwater solution made from Epsom salts is rich in magnesium, a mineral in which most people find themselves deficient. The water and air is regulated to a comfortable, neutral body temperature, which enhances the feeling as though you are floating in the air. Floatation Therapy yields multiple benefits like stress reduction, enhanced creativity, insomnia relief, treatment of chronic pain, and muscle soreness.
Your Float Session is 90 minutes total timeframe. This will include up to 60 minutes of floating plus pre
and post float prep. You will need to rinse off in shower before and after floating. You may also take a
few moments to dry hair if needed. If you wish to relax a bit longer after your session, you may use our post float lounge area.
How many floats does it take to grasp the floating experience?
Your first visit is considered a learning experience. A second float session helps you really see the potential benefits of regular floating. By the time your third float comes around, you’ll be comfortable, know what to expect, and really be able to relax and let go.

ORIGINS OF FLOATING
Floating in salt water for therapeutic reasons is not new. People have made pilgrimages to the Dead Sea for centuries. However, over the past 15 years, there’s been a renewed interest in the practice.
The use of floatation therapy tanks originated in the 1950s when neuroscientist Dr. John C. Lilly began studying the effects of isolation and limited sensory stimulation with the objective to free the mind of all distractions and outside noise.
Since then, floating has proven to offer many benefits far greater than its initial purpose for the mind, body and soul. It is particularly helpful for those with chronic stress or pain. Today, float pod spas are popping up around the world and are widely popular with repeat visitors.

Is there anything I should do to prepare?
Don’t drink coffee for several hours beforehand (it can make your system jittery). Also, don’t shave or wax since the salt water can irritate your skin. Eating a light meal about an hour to 90 minutes ahead of time stops your stomach from grumbling while you float. Other than that, there’s no specific preparation needed.
Do I need to bring anything?
If you have longer hair, you may want to bring a hair tie. Your own brush or comb and personal beauty items. Also, something to put your contact lenses into while you’re in the tank. Other than that, we provide everything you need (towels, makeup wipes, earplugs, body wash/shampoo, and blow dryer).
Is the water clean?
Epsom salt is a natural antimicrobial and, due to the high salt content in our Pod, bacteria simply can't live in the water. That said, we also have two filtration systems that cycles the water in the Pod multiple times between AND
an ozone/UV sanitation system that filters constantly when not in use. It's likely the cleanest water you'll ever be in!
What if I’m claustrophobic?
The Pod is massive! About 9 feet long by 6 feet wide and about 5 feet tall and shaped like a giant egg. You’re always in control of your environment; you can leave a light on, leave the pod door open and listen to music or a mediation to help you feel comfortable. Even people with extreme claustrophobia have reported having no problems with their time in the pod.
Can more than one person float in the tank at a time?
Our float tank size is recommended for one person only.
Can I float if I’m pregnant?
Yes!! As a matter of fact, floatation is incredible for relieving the stress - physically and mentally - from pregnancy.
The added weight and pressure on the mother's body is likely to cause discomfort and pain and the weightlessness
of the Float Pod are a perfect relief. Please consult with your physician before coming in.
What if my hair is color treated?
You should wait at least a week after coloring your hair before entering into the pod. Dyes may bleed out due to the reaction with the high concentration of Epsom salts. If your hair does not run clear upon rinsing - please reschedule. If hair is colored in bright shades of red, purple, blue, green, or pink, using our pod will not be permitted. Unfortunately bright, unnatural shades bleed easily and can cause damage to float pod and water.
Can I float if I’m menstruating?
Ladies in the process of menstruating are not permitted to float - please reschedule.
Can I drown if I fall asleep in there?
Nope. Some people fall asleep, but the water is so dense that you stay afloat - think of a cork floating in water.
Do I have to stay in the whole time?
You can get out anytime…you control your experience.
When nature calls.
Use the restroom facilities before entering into the pod. It’s best to avoid any distractions.
Ouch! Salt in the eyes?
Not to worry. In our pod there is a washcloth and a spray bottle of water just in case you touch your eyes after getting wet.
What type of salt is in the float pod? Epsom Salt is a pure mineral compound (Magnesium Sulfate) in crystal form.
Epsom salts are not in fact salts. They are actually a mineral found in water containing high levels of magnesium and sulfate. Epsom salt does not contain sodium chloride which is the active ingredient in table salt.
Tattoos and piercings - We ask that wait for your tattoos or piercings to heal before floating. Generally 3 to 4 weeks is good. Henna tattoos will be stripped by the salt so you would need to wash them off before floating - or please reschedule.
Spray Tan - Please wait to float until the spray tan is gone - or float just before getting your spray tan application.
Who should not Float? We are NOT medical professionals so do not rely on us for specific advice - PLEASE always consult your physician if you have any questions or concerns. Basic information has lead us to list the following as reasons a person should not float. Kidney/Liver/Detoxing issues, Epilepsy and/or seizure disorders, diabetes, low or high blood pressure that is not under control, incontinence, insulin pump or glucose monitor (removal of the pump would be necessary), ear infection or tubes in ears, open sores, if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and those with limited mobility.
